My journey to drumming circle
5 Years ago, in 2021, I was gifted a 16" Remo frame drum by my husband and Divine partner. I had always wanted a drum but had NO idea how to play one let alone hold a drum circle. Two days later, i picked up my drum and started to play it. yet I didn't play it, the drum played me; Every time I tried to play a rhythm, the spirit of the drum took over and it would play it's own rhythm, its own song. I would play it on my own, in my room, in our woodland. But that was all.
Until March this year (2026).
I had moved back from 25 years in France, in December, and in January was invited to a native American drum circle, by someone I didn't know, however the timing was off and so I never went. In March I was asked again, and this time I went. The people weren't my tribe but the feeling of drumming in agroup had me!
The next day I realised that I couldn't possibly wait a month for the next circle. I HAD to drum with PEOPLE. I put out a simple post on Social media and suddenly here were all these women wanting to drum with me, who had been waiting for this!
The rest is history.
I gathered the women in circle, never having held a circle and they loved it. They wanted more!
The Bourne to Be drumming circle was born!
This isn’t just a moment to drum together, it’s a safe, sacred space to connect with like-minded souls, to grow, and to deepen your spiritual path.
There’s a vision rising - a BIG one - something I’ve felt for a long time.
A calling to bring women like you together, so that we can rise together. We all sense that something is shifting in this world… a new way of being is being born. And we are here to build it.
As women, we are naturally wired to gather, to create, to support one another in community, just as we once did, in circle.
Drumming is more than something we do. It’s something we feel.
Drumming:
-
Grounds us
-
Reconnects us to who we are , our feminine power
-
Brings us back to something primal, tribal, deeply rooted
-
Releases stress and anxiety
-
Shifts stagnant energy
-
Clears the mind
-
Awakens our intuition
-
Helps us find our own rhythm, our own voice
This isn’t about one person leading. It’s not just me holding the space.
It’s about us , co-creating a space where women come together to support, uplift, and share.
Whether you have a drum or not…
Wherever you are on your journey…
You belong here.
Through rhythm, we connect - with each other, and with ourselves. There are no rules. We simply close our eyes, begin where we are, and allow the drum to guide us.
It becomes a journey - with the drum, with each other, and within.
And it’s powerful.
The energy rises, expands, and ripples far beyond us , beyond our bodies, beyond the room… out into the world.
But these circles aren't just about drumming. It's about being in the flow. And not forcing that we HAVE to drum. Sometimes we need to be held, or dive into a conscious conversation.
Drums shift energy and emotion, and that can sometimes be ALOT. And so we elt the drums do the speaking and allowing them to guide us.
The drum is a circle. And we are that circle.
Bourne to Be is a sacred women's circle birthing what needs to be.
Sessions take place at Wake House, Bourne, in small groups of no more than 8, to ease communication and connection. There are circles every week and at different times so there's one for you.
We drum, we talk, we hold space. There's no plan, instead we go with the flow and see where it leads.
Turn up as your authentic self, wherever you are on your journey, even if you don't have a drum.
People often bring spares, or you can sit and absorb the energy of the drums.
We are being called to drum, can you feel it?
