1 to 1 language coaching and training tailored to your needs

French lessons built around you

Whether you need French for work, holidays, or life in France, our 1-to-1 sessions are tailored entirely to your needs, your level and your goals. This isn’t traditional language teaching.

I’m not going to spoon-feed you information, send you home with piles of worksheets or give you grammar homework to complete!

Instead, we work together. You’ll have the space to use the French you already know, however much or little that may be, and build from there. Through conversation, fun activities and practical situations, we’ll work on helping you communicate more confidently and naturally.

And there’s no judgement. Mistakes are part of the process.

So, what does a session actually look like?

Imagine you want to feel more confident having a conversation with a doctor in French.

We might start by looking at the vocabulary you already know and finding ways to expand it,  as well as strategies to help you actually remember and use it.

Then you’ll have a go at creating your own version of a conversation using the French you have.

Together, we’ll build a framework:

  • What questions might you need to ask?

  • How could you say them in different ways?

  • What might the doctor ask you?

  • What answers might you hear?

  • How could you respond?

I’ll help you find different ways of expressing yourself, so you can sound natural and like yourself, rather than like you’ve memorised something from a textbook. Then we’ll put it all into practice.

We might role-play the conversation several times, changing things as we go, until you feel comfortable handling it for yourself.

Practical French. Real conversations. More confidence.

Every session is interactive, practical and tailored to you.

We use the French you already have, build on it, and practise using it in situations that actually matter to you. You won’t be expected to be perfect.

You’ll be encouraged to have a go, experiment, make mistakes, find your words and keep going.

Because knowing French is one thing.

Feeling confident enough to actually use it is another.

More than learning French... come and experience France.

For me, France has never just been a language. It's a whole experience.

It's a place that has shaped my life, my family and who I am today.

From the age of 12, I was fascinated, in fact I was OBSESSED by France. That fascination led me to spend 25 years living there, raising my children, working, building friendships and experiencing everyday French life from the inside.

It's a country I know, love and continue to return to and now I'd love to share a little of it with you.

French Lavender isn't about sitting in a classroom or worrying about getting every word right.

It's about stepping into France.

Together we'll explore the language through conversation, games, role play, laughter and real-life situations. Along the way I'll share stories, traditions, little cultural quirks and those everyday details that only come from truly living there.

Whether you're planning a holiday, rediscovering French after many years or simply love everything French, my hope is that you'll leave each experience feeling more confident, more connected and just that little bit closer to France.

Because sometimes the best way to learn a language...

...is to experience the life behind it.

Why the name "French Lavender"?

Lavender has always been much more than a flower to me.

It reminds me of Provence, of long summers in France and of a country that captured my heart from an early age. As an essential oil, lavender is often associated with communication and expression, something that sits at the heart of everything I do.

And, of course, lavender is a Wildflower.
